So why the name "Markley''s"? George Markley sold guns out of his house in the late 1970''s and Early 1980''s, eventually establishing a store front in Scotts Valley. In 1984, Scotty and Ward bought the little store and ran it for over 10 years, eventually expanding and opening up our current location in Watsonville in 1994. After almost 25 years of successful business it was time to retire.
In 2008 Santa Cruz natives Chris and Harley bought the Range bringing almost 50 years of military service and training experience with them, along with over 30 years of small business ownership. As a major gun enthusiast and competition shooter, Chris hopes to pick up where Scotty and Ward left off and take Markley''s to the next level. Increasing product lines, inventory, and continued great customer service.
