At first I was hesitant to drive the 1-1/2 hours down I-5 & 405 to see if we could do business, especially with the "stuck up and rude" experiences I have had at other Bellevue gun shops. Eastside & Seattle area gun shops are not alone though. Here in Mt. Vernon, I live only 15 minutes away from one of the largest "in-stock" gun shops in the Northwest.
This particular shop has become so unpleasant to deal with, I have turned almost entirely to the internet for my gun purchases. I had basically given up on dealing with "local area" shops all together!
Then I just happened to stumble upon your web site - www.survivalarms.com .
I have been buying and selling firearms for about 15 years and I have NEVER seen the level of professionalism and service that I experienced on my first trip to Survival Arms!
I was amazed to see you take the time to show a customer purchasing a new Springfield XD .45 how to:
1. Safely clear and break down the weapon.
2. Properly lubricate & clean it.
3. Correctly re-assemble it.
4. Do a safety and function check after re-assembly.
Then you asked him to go through the procedures himself - so you could watch and be sure he understood how to do it correctly! To top it off, you even gave him a free pair of cotton "finishing / polishing" gloves to help keep his new firearm looking its best!
At other gun shops, he would have got "Cash, Check or Credit ?" and a "Thank you..." (if he was lucky).
Needless to say, I was VERY impressed with your shop, and the "friendly atmosphere" it has.
Unfortunately a "friendly atmosphere" is becoming harder and harder to find in gun shops these days.
Dealing with Survival Arms was a refreshing reminder that classic "good ole' polite & friendly "little gun shops of the past are not entirely gone forever!
As far as I am considered, Survival Arms is the "only shop in town".
